In the spring of 2008 Conchango were acquired by a giant US coporation called EMC.
What followed was dismal and awful to witness, with a dreadful inevitability about it ("can't they see what they're doing?").
A hugely disappointing period of wrenching change led to the protracted eviseration of what had once been a fantastic, vibrant company culture, together with the resultant loss of most of the good, talented people that I had previously been lucky enough to have worked with.
Why such wanton destruction was, or might ever be, considered a good or desirable outcome escapes me.
I was involved with several other clients projects both during and after this metamorphosis, including:
- Sky - with whom I worked to help them re-think some of their ecommerce sales processes
- Setanta - the newcomer sports broadcaster, for whom I designed a broadband TV service in Silverlight
- Barclaycard - for whom I designed the application process for a lifestyle insurance product.
