Conchango

"A proper grown-up company"

Contract :: user experience consultant :: 2007 - 2008

When I first worked with them in 2007, Conchango had been rapdily growing in reputation, size and market dominance for some years, and the trend showed no signs of abating. During this time, Conchango was a highly rewarding place to work: professional but anarchic, fun but accomplished, with a real sense of being part of a grouping of committed, really talented and focused people.

In three separate engagements with Conchango in 2007, 2008 and 2009 I worked on some great projects, with some fabulous people - Grant Venter, Michael Knight and James Keeley, to name just a few.

The biggest project was a truly exciting initiative to analyse, re-think and re-architect the Barclays retail banking proposition from the ground up. A massive, well-managed and complex project with the opportunity (nay, requirement) to really innovate. The work involved a lot of detailed qualitative desk research combined with greenfield creative user experience origination, followed by progressively higher resolution realisation of proposed solutions in terms of wireframes, process flows and taxonomy - just the kind of thing I like!
